Bio:
Aleksandra Twardokęs is a graphic designer and researcher in the field of visual communication. She is an absolvent of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice on the Faculty of Design. Currently she carries out doctoral studies on the University of Warsaw, in the Institute of Iberian and Ibero-American Studies. Her PhD thesis is focused on the wayfinding system of the Mexico City public transport. In the scope of her interest is theory of signs, theory of writing, systems of visual communication, iconography of pre-Columbian Mexico. She is a member of the interdisciplinary research group “Sign and Symbol” on the University of Warsaw. Co-author of the exhibition “Słowa nieulotne. Pismo w kulturach świata” (“Non-vanishing Words. Writing in the world cultures”) in the Museum of Asia and Pacific in Warsaw.
